Welcome! My name is Julia Andreasen (she/her) and I am a postdoctoral researcher with the International Arctic Research Center (IARC) at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. Here, I study Arctic moisture transport and extreme precipitation events over the west coast of Greenland.
In August, 2025, I received my Ph.D. from the Land and Atmospheric Science program at the University of Minnesota. My research explored Operation IceBridge radar data and reanalysis datasets to best understand snow accumulation along WAIS ice rises. Overall, I am fascinated by the intersection of ice-ocean-atmosphere along polar coastlines, and am passionate about the need for accessible and prioritized science communication. |
